Buckthorn Bashers is intended to be a volunteeer organization that will help state parks and other organizations interested in habitat restoration in the area control some of the invasive tree and plant species on their land. Buckthorn, is a non-native tree and perhaps the biggest threat to our forests as it often gets so thick that it chokes out almost all the native trees that are trying to grow in the understory.
