We are a diverse group of  easy going people who enjoy the great outdoors.    Our outings  range from urban walks to country rambles to mountain hikes. We hike on Saturdays, Sundays, an occasional Tuesday and sometimes at night.  Since we either begin our hikes at the starting place or car pool to  the trail head, there is no need to register in advance.  No dogs are allowed on the hikes. But all people who enjoy hiking in the company of others, are welcome. What better discovery to have during an activity than "YOU"!! I started this group because hiking in remote areas brings focus to the way we experience our beautiful world and ourselves. But don't cancel your gym membership -- we are going to need it so we can hike a little farther and give ourselves a better reason to stay healthy and fit.

My goal is to lead all age groups of up to 15 people on hiking tours that explore the wonderful National and State parks beyond the D.C. metro area. I have many years of leading groups on outdoor adventures all over North America, and want to share my enthusiasm and expertise with others, as well as help create an atmosphere for making some new friends! Each hike will be an adventure!

This group is for families with children at Columbia Elementary School in Annandale, VA., who are interested in hiking their kids to/from school. Typically, we start at 8:30 AM at Mason District Park, have time to check out the pond and playground, and hike just over a mile to Columbia to be there around 9-ish. Its a great way for kids to start the day! There are no set days. If the weather is nice, there is a good chance that there will be a hike.
