Welcome to our Meetup page! I started this group to bring together local West Marin folk who enjoy staying fit and want to meet new people. I moved to Bolinas about 2 months ago and have been finding it increasingly difficult to drive "over the hill" for social activities. So I decided to try and create a community of fitness-minded people right here at the coast, where beautiful trails and vistas abound. What to expect I plan to put 1 or 2 runs on the calendar every week. Runs will be in Bo …

Welcome to The Hike. "The Hike" seeks to explore natural beauty in Sonoma and surrounding counties on foot while enjoying the company of others. Hikes are approximately 8-12 miles and vary in difficulty. I have been on many hikes around Sonoma County, but mostly enjoy exploring new trails, so hikes will often be exploratory for me. To participate in a hike, I require that you take responsibility for yourself and any guest(s) that you bring. This is actually spelled out in your agreement with m …

Weekend hiking with the canine companion(s) and socializing with other hikers in the community. One doesn't have to be a dog owner to be a member; just someone who likes hanging around dogs and the outdoors. Since I'm still learning the area, I will be posting dog-friendly hiking trails from www.bahiker.com, but other suggestions are welcome and encouraged. My partner and I have a senior Corgi, so most hikes will be low-key and fall within beginner-to-intermediate levels. The majority of the hi …

"Find your place on the planet. Dig in, and take responsibility from there" - Gary Snyder Don't let the weeds take over our mountain! Not only are they ugly and prickly, but they're also changing our mountain: more weeds = less wildflower + more fires. The vast majority of the mountain is in good shape but the nasties are starting to take hold and move around. Let's stop them before they really get going. Say it with me, pulling broom is fun oh so fun oh so fun, I wanna do this all day long... M …

Unfortunately, many activities in Napa do involve either fancy -and expensive- dining and/or alcohol. The purpose of this group is to allow those of us who are in the beginning stages of life --either new family, new career and/or new business-- to get out and socialize or be active without spending so much. This group i …
