This group is all about hiking with outdoor enthusiasts to challenge ourselves in hiking adventures in local parks and to discover the new trails in San Francisco bay area and further... We do a wide variety of hikes ranging from the 5 miles after work moderate hikes to 35 miles strenuous day hikes. We don't lead any easy hike or walk often and all the organizers are advanced level hikers. If you are a beginner hiker and looking for the easy hikes, this group may not be a good fit for you.
When we started several years ago, our goal was to explore Silicon Valley (aka "The Valley of Heart's Delight"), in part to show people there was more to the Bay Area than San Francisco. Now we've visited just about every local museum from Gilroy to Santa Cruz to Millbrae, so we tend to journey farther afield for cultural/historical walks and day trips. Our events include mundane after-work "well, it's better than just sitting on the couch" walks in local neighborhoods as well as more ambitiou …

We organize fun and adventurous outings for dogs and their owners in the San Francisco Bay Area. Currently most of our hikes are in the South Bay Area. We occasionally offer walks in the afternoon and/or evenings and training sessions with a dog trainer. Our sponsors are businesses that offer their free time to organize hikes, walks and other fun outings for you and your dog. We are solely run by volunteers. We will also post other dog related events as a courtesy. Happy Hiking!

I wanted to create a place where people in San Jose, Campbell, Morgan Hill, Milpitas and the Bay Area can meet and make new friends. Hiking, walking, biking, camping, dinning. Run into old friend! Everybody has to eat and exercise sometime – might as well do it in good company of others. Meet with people who like adventures - getting thrills through adventurous sports like camping, caving, climbing, hiking, kayaking, skiing, skydiving, whitewater rafting, just to name a few. We plan most of our …

I decided to start this group because we have some really awesome and fun hiking trails in our area. And also, some of these agencies have docents that really rock. The Open Space Authority docents are friendly, engaging and won't make you cry hiking up the hill (unless you like killer hikes and then they have some crazy intense hikers, too). This group is for anyone who likes to go hiking, or for walks and would like people to go with. If you like walking with other people, if you are shy, frie …

LPSS hikes/events will be "singles events" and BMG and Guadalupe group events are "open to everyone". Most hikes will have organized carpool po …

Let's hike all of the great parks and open space preserves in the bay area. I love to hike in the early mornings when it's cool and maybe even foggy. And to get back and have the whole rest of the day ahead of me. I've looked for like-minded people who want to challenge themselves in the early mornings everywhere and am hoping that I will finally find them with this group. I plan to organize two hikes every week, one on Sunday and one on a weekday. We will focus on the south bay and the peninsul …

Dear fellow hikers or potential hikers, I love hiking in the fresh air of mountain and sea, and want to join with other women in exploring hiking trails in Santa Cruz and neighboring counties. For years I was a solo backpacker who frequently ventured solo into less frequented areas. Recently I experienced a scare while doing so which made me realize how vulnerable a solo hiker off trail is. I concluded that for safety and companionship where any portion of the route is off established trails, I would prefer to hike with other independent-style backpackers. Those meetups of our group where I am part of the group will provide the partners I seek. My idea of a small group is myself, my d …
