The Hayward Hiking Club has hikes scheduled for almost every Saturday on trails in parks and preserves throughout the Bay Area. The hikes vary in difficulty from easy to strenuous. Each hike is different. Distances range from 5 to 12 miles. Elevation gains range from flat to 2500 feet. We typically meet for carpooling at one of 3 locations in Hayward, Castro Valley, or San Lorenzo (in the Bay Area, California). Passengers pay the driver an amount based on the distance driven and expenses such as …

Join other hiking enthusiasts in an intense, but short workout. We hike Mission Peak on Sundays at 10 a.m. Mission Peak is a peak east of Fremont, California with an elevation of 2,517 ft (767m). We meet at the Stanford Avenue entrance by the picnic table. This is a strenuous hike with a constant uphill climb until you reach the summit. We do not take breaks until we reach the summit. The elevation gain is 2100 ft and the hike duration is approximately 2 1/2 hours. This is an out-and-back hik …
This group's goal is to get exercise while exploring and learning about the geology and natural science of the San Francisco Bay Area. The aim is the mid-point between the hiking groups that don't stop long enough to explore and learn about what they're passing and the nature groups that see lots of great stuff, but don't get that much exercise. Hikes will be lead by members with knowledge of unique, exotic, or otherwise fascinating features of our area. If you have a favorite hike that you'd l …

This group is an experiment. This group was inspired by a friend's use of her mascots to document her overseas trip and then some of her hiking in the Bay Area Ridge Trail & More group. It added a humor and a personalization to her trips that is very fun and interesting. I would like to replicate and experiment with this idea with the creation of this group. So then, the purpose of this group is to bring out the innocent or child in us, as we hike or travel, through the persona of a mascot. This …

After a rough and stressful work week, it is great to start the weekend with a relaxing hike. The SF Bay Area has so many exciting and beautiful hiking opportunities. A great way of getting to know the area from a different perspective. (Most of the trails I pick are from a book called "Top Trails: San Francisco Bay Area"). The hikes will usually start in the morning of either saturday or sunday and should be suited for everyone with a bit of hiking experience. The pace will be adjusted to the i …

The Outlaws are a group of nature-loving outdoor folks who insist on bringing their dogs along. Why hike if I can't bring my dog? is our question. We hike mostly in Marin county, but sometimes East Bay too. Summer overnights and weekend camping trips to National Forest destinations. Swimming, BBQ, hiking, fetch, fun.
This group is the largest Law of Attraction Meetup Group in Northern Calfornia and is a solid community where people can connect and participate in really fun, high vibrational, feel good activities based around the teachings of the Law of Attraction. Most of our hikes are weekday AM in the Livermore and TriValley. Mostly 1 to 2 hours, we occasionally do longer hikes of 3 or 4 hours. Very rarely weekends, so if that is your only availability, we might not be the right group for you. You don't HAVE to work from home, but if you are available during weekdays (retired, flexible schedule etc) and want to get out in the sun (and rain) and get your fitness and nature fix early in the morning, come on out and join us.
We are constantly striving for one thing or another (more pay, better job, better quality food, an awesome parking spot, etc). Most of the time, we just need a moment to be. This group creates time for us to be at peace. We go on local hikes in the Bay Area. Yoga and meditation are integrated into the hike. Its always beautiful to do vinyasa in nature. All levels are welcome, the days activities are organized by difficulty. We look forward to being with you!
Whenever and wherever but not to commute so far to hike. I have identified atleast 20 hiking places in the near vicinity. Minimum hikers should be 2 to schedule the event...

We're a friendly group in the 30-48, or so, age range who would like to meet other active people around the same age. The Next Level Up: Bobby Fishkin and David Hodgson have been chatting, and have discovered that there are only 24 hours in the day. We have therefore come to a fresh hypothesis as how to meet two objectives. The first objective is that an abundance of humanizing dialogue with diverse fascinating social entrepreneurs, visionaries, futurists, revolutionaries, empathetic humanizers, socially responsible business incubators, social intrapreneurs, culture hackers, social innovation diffusion speciali …
We sponsor 2-4 hikes/events per month, ranging from beginner level to very advanced. While our primary focus is on hiking and backpacking, we also do other outdoor adventures from time to time - mud runs, zip line tours, kayaking, rafting, etc. The goal is to make new friends while enjoying the beautiful bay area outdoors and to get some great exercise to boot (pun intended)! All ages, races, nationalities, genders, orientations, etc. welcome! We are continually told by new members that our g …
This group is meant for people who have wanted to explore the Bay Area Ridge Trail (the BART) or who just enjoy hiking and need an excuse. Since our hikes are normally in the 10-12 miles range with elevation gain, some hiking experience or at least a reasonable fitness level is expected of you to join us. BEGINNERS PLEASE CHECK THE “ABOUT” MENU FOR ADVICE. To incorporate another passion of mine, I will also be attempting to know the rocks or geology of the BART. I will write-up little “Geology …
This group is a "sister" group to East Bay Walkers (run by my brother Mike). We're a group of 30's/40's/50's hikers who want to get some exercise and explore the Bay Area on moderate hikes that are 2 to 4 hours in length. Most of the hikes will be on well-developed trails, and will be geared-toward the novice to intermediate-level hiker. Experienced hikers are also welcome, and we'd enjoy learning about some of your experiences. Note that the main intent for the organizers of this group is to ge …
This is a group for casual hikers, dogs and their friends who love to hit the trail for fun and exercise. Based in the East Bay we'll explore dog friendly hikes in the bay area. Dogs of all sizes and breeds that are (mostly) well behaved are welcome. We also encourage non dog owning folks to join us. If you enjoying being with/hiking with dogs, we would love to have you join us on a hike. Please let me know if you'd like to lead a hike : ) we are always happy to have new leaders and learn new …
