"I am a 40-something father of two girls, 7 and 9. We love being outside exploring and learning about all that nature has to offer. I have always loved the outdoors. I started backpacking on my own in Jr. High (other than Boy Scouts) & love it!"
What is your hiking level? (ie how long have you been hiking, how often and what is your typical hiking speed?)
"Last trip (1/25/2007) was to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back in two 1/2 days. I sometimes like distance hikes over strenuous (climbing), depends on my mood. 15 to 20 miles is a good day."
What outdoor activities do you enjoy? (See Polls) Hiking, Backpacking, Camping, Bicycling, Kayaking/Canoeing, Snow skiing, Camping, Whitewater, etc)
"Hiking, rock climbing, camping, canoing are my favorite."
Where do you live? (For potential Carpool/ride shares) - N Ral, Central Ral, E/SE Ral, W Ral/Cary/Apex, Brier Creek, Durham, Chapel Hill, etc

Where do you like to hike?
"Falls Lake, but I would like to get out to the NC / WV / TN mountains more often."
