Hometown: Springfield, MA
Location: Cary, NC us
- Introduction:
- "I moved to North Carolina in December 2005 and made the decision to get off the couch and explore the outdoors. I still consider myself a beginner. I can usually be found at the back of the pack, slowly but surely plodding along."
- What is your hiking level? (ie how long have you been hiking, how often and what is your typical hiking speed?)
- "As long as I am able to maintain a slow comfortable pace I think I can climb just about anything. I've done some pretty strenuous climbs with significant elevation changes. I've only been hiking about 2 years and hike about 3 mph."
- What outdoor activities do you enjoy? (See Polls) Hiking, Backpacking, Camping, Bicycling, Kayaking/Canoeing, Snow skiing, Camping, Whitewater, etc)
- "anything that gets me outside and won't get me killed easily. Some things I've done with the group include: day hiking, camping, canoing, kayaking, tubing. I hope to go white water rafting, skiing and anything else the organizers can come up with."
- Where do you live? (For potential Carpool/ride shares) - N Ral, Central Ral, E/SE Ral, W Ral/Cary/Apex, Brier Creek, Durham, Chapel Hill, etc
- "North Raleigh"
- Where do you like to hike?
- "I'm a "mountains and lakes" kind of girl. I prefer cool crisp mountain air to the heat and humidity of the ocean (not to mention sand in unmentionable places). I like the beach in Fall and Spring but it's too hot in the summer. "

Karen is a lot of fun to hang out with- and quite funny:) And I wouldn't play her for money in any board games(unless Andrea can be my substitute player- ha ha ha).
-
Karen is a VERY cool gal...excellent tennis player, hilarious sense of humor, has a beautiful smile and I'm really glad that her boyfriend autographed my tennis racket cover!
-
What a trooper when it comes to hiking. Awesome gal.

Karen is a very fun girl that is always ready to go out and have fun. She has a wonderfull sense of humor and she is the kind of person that you want to have in a group. She keeps conversations going on, puts smiles on everybody's face and won't let anybody get bored. Rock on Karen.
