This hiking group is for older folks -- whatever that means -- and their friends. Whiners need not apply! We want to attract hikers of equal ability, averaging between 3 - 10 miles with an average elevation gain up to 2000 ft. This is a CASUAL group, but some of the hikes will be quite strenuous. We won't have front or end or rear end people on the trail, but we will wait at our destination for everyone before we start the return trip or return and meet you on the return trail should there be a return trail, and the hike is not a loop.

We will try and rate each hike on three levels: Easy, Moderate, Strenuous.

There will be no organized carpooling, but members can find others on the roster who live near them and organize their own rides. You are welcome to use the message board here to set rides up.

Some hikes will incorporate an end of trail picnic or trailside lunch, others may end up with the group at a local restaurant. Some hikes will be for enjoying the trail, others for spotting elk or other wildlife, others for photography. As with any hiking adventure along the Front Range, one must always be prepared with the proper foot wear, weather gear, food, and communications equipment. You will rely only upon yourself for these responsibilities.
Scheduling will be random. However, most hikes will be scheduled on Saturdays, with an occasional mid-week or Sunday hike. We will schedule day hikes only (and the occasional dinner), but any member is welcome to schedule snowshoeing, backpacking, or any other outdoor activity.

This is a fun group with great members and we welcome those who want to participate in local hikes to the Denver/Front Range area. As always, PARTICIPATION IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. Please read the About page for more details.

**A note to pet owners who want to bring pets on any trails that allow pets regardless of trail rules and regulations:
All pets will remain on a short, 6’ maximum leash at all times with one end attached to the owner at all times and the other end attached to the pet at all times.
All pet waste will be picked up and packed out by the pet owner.
I dislike rules of any kind but I have received a complaint from the Forest Service.

What members are saying

 Very friendly people. Good activities.
