16th ANNUAL CROWN KING OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT & OPTIONAL CAR CAMP Sat, Sept 27 * Leader: Randy Baker ([masked]) Length: 2.0 miles Phone: [masked] Rating: Crazy MEET location / time TBA Elevation change: Yes Help us defend last years title! The 16th annual Crown King Open Golf tournament is Cowboy Golf at its best. Its only hole is 2 miles long, and its fairway is the historic mining road that runs down from Towers Mountain. Golfing ability is NOT required,?. only one trusty, er, rusty club. Refreshments are served along the way, along with a barbeque and party afterwards. The $40 entry fee benefits the local Crown King Fire Department and includes: T-shirt, continental breakfast, O.J., Mimosas, Champagne, Dinner and raffle. Registration is limited, so please RSVP the hike leader by Sept. 7. Tee Time is at 7:30 Saturday morning. *For those interested, there will be an optional car camp on Friday night. The October 2003 Arizona Highways called this a wacky adventure that is a real hoot. Yeee Haa! UPDATE!!! The Crown King Open 2008 Entry form is now available online for download in a pdf file. (see link below) If attending, print the form, and when filling it out, also note 'FRIENDS HIKING CLUB'. Then mail it to the address listed on the form. The entry fee is $35 before Sept 4, $40 after.
