Southern Appalachian Hiking & Scenic Photography

The mission of this group is to give the area a true hiking and backpacking club, as well as another aspect for those who have a passion for outdoor and nature photography. The mountains of VA, NC, TN, SC, & GA are unique and scenic with a wealth of biodiversity that deserves to be explored. The hiking trails, mountain vistas, waterfalls, State and National Parks/Forests are the finest in the east.

The first aspect of the club seeks to offer the more serious hikers and backpackers an opportunity to get out and explore the best the area has to offer with a like-minded group. This doesn't mean that you must be thoroughly accomplished, just that you want to hike, see the area, and have the option of backpacking at times.

Another goal of the group is to provide opportunities for those who enjoy scenic trips and outdoor photography. Often it's nice to just drive somewhere beautiful and take pictures of the wildlife and scenery. People are free to enjoy either aspect of the club, or both.
