Let's explore the south side of Mt. Tam. Route: To be determined by weather and group interest. The choices include East Peak and Stinson Beach. This will be fast paced hike (2.5mph+) with about 3000' of climbing. All are welcome, but please be comfortable with the pace and distance. As always bring food and water, and wear appropriate footwear and clothing. The current forecast is for dry skies, but we'll go rain or shine. If it rains, we may shorten the route or modify it to stay under tree cover. We'll depart at 9:15 from the information sign in the lower (overflow) lot. The sign is near where the Dipsea Trail crosses Redwood Creek. Park entry fee is $5 unless you have a Muir Woods or National Parks pass.

No set route at this point, I just want to get in a good fairly fast hike. Two possible routes: 1. Mt. Home to Slide Ranch 2. Up to East Peak and then over to West Peak around the North Side Meet at Mt. Home Parking Lot - Mt. Tam State Park.

It's Fleet Week and the Blue Angels are in town this weekend, so let's do a hike where we don't have to drive across the GG Bridge. We'll take the 10:40 Golden Gate Ferry to Sausalito, and walk back via the GG Bridge, Chrissy Field, the Marina and Fishermans Wharf. The hike will be around 10 miles. Expect a moderate pace (2.5 - 3mph). The only hill is the climb from Sausalito to the Bridge. Bring water and snacks. If we want to get back in time to see the Blue Angels, we probably won't have time for a long break for lunch. The ferry costs $7.85. Meet at 10:30 by the Golden Gate Ferry ticket booth behind the Ferry Building. Please be on time. The ferry leaves at 10:40, and it doesn't wait. If you live in Marin, you can meet us in Sausalito and take the ferry home after the hike. Our ferry lands at 11:10.

Join us on a fast paced (2.75+ mph) 20+ mile hike on Mt. Tam. I'm still working out the details, but the general route is Muir Woods -> Stinson Beach -> East Peak. I want to get in a couple of steep climbs, so if it's not too hot, we'll leave Stinson via Willow Camp, traverse across the north side to Lake Lagunitas, and get to East Peak via Collier Springs. Expect 5000' to 6000' of climbing. Willow Camp and Collier Springs are both around 2000' climbs. Bring food, water and $$ for snacks at East Peak and Stinson Beach. It will be a long day, and I want to be back at the cars by 4:00, so we'll depart promptly at 8:00. As usual, all are welcome, but please be comfortable with the pace and distance.
