You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
First, there's a short parade in Metro_Hamlin, followed by a free picnic at the VFW Post.
Then, we'll car pool to hike about 2 and a half miles along the shore line of Lake Ontario at Hamlin Beach State Park, up to the bluffs.

Memorial Day Hike & Picnic - Where to Meet
Monday, May 26, 2008 at 12:15 PM
This is a mild hiking day, not a forced march, if you are out of shape,
this is a great beginner hike. Please join us!
I will have pins that say "Rochester Made for Living" to identify us.
I have long blond hair, glasses, and a painted walking stick.
I will have a sign on my windshield that says "Hiking Meetup".
Lastly, I will be offline and unreachable by e-mail after this Friday afternoon, so if you need to e-mail do that now.
READ CAREFULLY - WHERE TO MEET
If you get lost -- this will help you find us along the way.
12:15 pm - Meet/park in the giant old IGA plaza parking lot right next door to Krony's Pizza, at the address below. See Mapquest link.
You will see the Hamlin Public Library and Medical Center and a dive bar.
Park there in that lot, and I should be there early, too.
NOTE! DO NOT park at Krony's Pizza -- you will be towed.
Krony's is just your reference point and land mark.
We will wait until about 12:30 pm and then walk down to Metro- Hamlin, on Rt. 19, about 1/4 mile for a very short parade that starts at 1:00 pm.
2:00 pm - There is FREE picnic is at the Hamlin VFW Post at Rt. 19 and Rt.18
(following a short ceremony)
FREE Hots, Hamburgs, Salads, Pop, and Cake will be served. All you can eat.
2:45 pm-ish - We will walk back to our cars, and car pool to Hamlin Beach State Park.
There is a $ 7.00 charge to get in the park, I have a pass to pay for my vehicle, and those who ride with me.
3:15 pm-ish - We will park in Area One, and start our hike at at the Yanty Creek Trailhead, Yanty Creek is about 1 mile -- a nice hike, but not difficult.
We will then hike down the walkway straight to the bluffs at Area 4, about
1/4 mile.
This is a very scenic hike along the beach shoreline and Yanty Creek Trail is
maintained with lookouts over marshes and loops.
We will finish and maybe go for ice cream back at Krony's between 5 and 6 pm.
