Paddle - Canoe and Kayak the Grand River

Fun day out of canoeing and kayaking down a stretch of the GRAND RIVER from Cambridge To Paris.


We will meet at the Toronto Carpool Location..Islington Subway at 8:00am


We will drive WEST on QEW(passing Hamilton and Brantford and the Grand River) to Paris, Ontario and meet at the Outfitter, pay, change, use washrooms,
then a short 5 min drive to park and get into a bus, then drive upriver to the start of our river trip.

Participants will choose between a canoe (2 people) and kayak (1 person).
You will be provided with a PFD vest, paddle and boat.


You will bring:
Lunch, water, hat, rain top (in case it rains), SUN GLASSES, CAMERA, small towel....perhaps a change of clothes in case you get really wet! Your feet will get wet. Running shoes will be fine.

We will paddle for 2-3 hours, then have lunch on land, then another 2 hours of paddling down river to our
end location at our cars.

Directions to 113 Grand River Street North, Paris ON:

Take QEW West to 403

403 all the way to Paris

Turn RIGHT(North) at Rest Acres Road...It's the road to the right after passing/crossing the river

Follow Rest Acres Road and make another RIGHT into Paris.
Follow this road, going down a hill and make a LEFT at the KFC.
Pass over a bridge and the store is on your RIGHT on Grand River St.
Immediately after passing the store, turn Right and park at the back.
Come up to the store.

Carpool cost is $10.00 per passenger.

      “ Another great effort put together by Ghanesh provided me with another fun outing on the Grand. Better than before, the weather cooperated, the birds were singing, the herons flying, I stayed dry this time even when it rained and the passing thunderstorm , (although scary at first), was a pleasant reminder of nature around us. I commandeered the Kayak better now, able to guide it better and it was excellent physiotherapy for my arms. Thanks So much Ghanesh! ”
