Details
A number of people in the group have enjoyed our weekday hikes. If you have time off or a flexible work schedule, please join us Friday morning for a fast 2 hour or less hike. Note, the start time is 9:30.
Let's get together in the parking lot in front of the facilities and head out at 9:30. We can take one of three routes to give us about 6 miles - we'll decide as a group.
Take exit 287 off I-40 and go away from Cary to the Reedy Creek entrance. Please plan to arrive in time to begin the hike at 9:30 AM. Hiking boots are highly recommended. Don't forget to bring water!
DISTANCE: Appx. 6 miles
TIME: 2 hours or less
DIFFICULTY: Moderately Difficult - Umstead trails have roots, rocks, and rolling hills; plus we'll be going at a rapid pace with few stops.
DOG FRIENDLY?: Absolutely, but on a leash. Plan to share your water or let them drink from the streams.
WEATHER: just right.
