Welcome to the first leg of our First Ever Skyline-to-the-Sea (S2S) series.

The first leg is Saratoga Gap to Waterman Gap. *Note: The full hike does not end at the starting trailhead.* Additionally, this is a difficult hike; however we'd be delighted to have YOU join us as a driver (see below) if the full hike is not for you this year.

For all of the S2S hikes we'll have both hikers and drivers. The hikers will be doing the full leg of the hike. The drivers will also be hiking, but their main responsibility will be to drop folks off at the "start" trailhead, drive to the "finish" trailhead, and do an out-and-back hike from the finish point. The turnaround point for the "driver hikers" will be the point that they meet the "hiker hikers".

If you've heard me talk about this, you know it's gonna be great. We're so excited to have you join us, either as a hiker, as a driver, or as someone who's going to join us for lunch and celebrations.

Please be sure to include whether you will be a *hiker hiker* or a *driver hiker* in your RSVP. More details to follow. Looking forward to seeing YOU out on the trail soon.

    So the hikers start out at Saratoga Gap. I figure we have food at the "vista point" along the way, since there's parking and a picnic table or two. They walk to Waterman Gap, which is not that far away from the camping site (also at Waterman Gap). We can have food ready at the camping site or pick everyone up and drive to hot food.

    looking at the message board thread, do i understand this part of the trail is done backwards - that due to parking issues the hikers 'start' at waterman gap and end up at saratoga gap?

    driver driver? folks can leave their food and beverage goodies with me at the start point and i will deliver them to the end point and set up lunch. are there grills available? anyone have a portable to bring?
