HIKE STATS:
Start Time: 10 AM
Distance: variable ~ hike for time
Estimated Hike Time: 3+ hours
Difficulty: MODERATE (for endurance, but should be bearable with friends)
Event Organizer: Maura

The route is still being determined but we are most likely going to be meeting at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. There will probably be alternative routes for folks who want to hike and a less organized one for those who want to meander. For now, why don't we meet at the Windmill (since it's easy) and decide routes from there. Anyone who'd like to join us for breakfast beforehand is welcome. If Mahesh has anything to say about it, a stalwart group will be going out afterwards as well!

* The SF weather patterns are changeable. Be sure to bring an extra layer or two.
* Remember to bring snacks and water.
* Sunday is Mother's Day. Remember to call your mother (if you can). Mother's Day cards will probably be on sale today for anyone who needs one.
* No pets, please.

This hike is open to all members without restriction. This does not mean it is an easy hike: it means that no special permissions are required from the event organizer (Maura) in order to join. This is a moderate hike.

Please be aware that we expect you to take responsibility for your safety while we are out on the trails. This means arriving prepared, remaining aware and participating with the other really wonderful folks who are part of the group on hike day. We understand that your "Yes" RSVP to this event means you accept this.

If the hike is full, please RSVP "No" and add a comment asking to be added to the wait list. Our folks are really, really good about keeping their RSVP status current and the wait list works REALLY well. Please remember that it is NOT OKAY to come to this hike unless you have a "Yes" RSVP for yourself and any guests you'd like to bring.

CARPOOLS:
Meetup does not organize carpools; however we are a friendly group with lots of folks who are interested in sharing rides. If you'd like to offer a ride, please leave a comment in your RSVP letting folks know where you're coming from and how many spaces there are. If you'd like to ride as a passenger, it is YOUR JOB to check the website RSVP list and contact any of the nice people offering a ride to see if they still have a space for you. If you're a passenger and your plans change, please be sure to let the driver know.

Thank You Maura, this is my first time with this group, I look forward to it. Ton Kiang Restaurant is a great place, one of the best for Dim Sum, and I could walk from my house.

Wow. Where did the week go? I'm sneaking a ride in with Sheila so won't be driving directly. It looks like we'll be at the Crepevine around 8:30. Anybody earlier than that deserves the better place in line! See you there.

Hey Maura! Would you like to carpool to the Crepevine/Hike and post hike robust encounter? :-) I live in Mountain View also. Sincerely,Eva. (the new gal from last week).

Did some research for a dim sum place close to the hiking spot and and come up with Ton Kiang Restaurant situated at 5821 Geary Blvd, San Francisco, CA - It is a 2.4 mile drive - It is straight up from Point Lobos that turns into Geary Blvd. Place seems to have good reviews.

Sure, will be glad to. After the last beach walk, we had gone to a Kroean place and had Kari do all the ordering - that was really nice. Any suggestions!!

Yeah. What do you guys think about the Crepevine (624 Irving St, SF, 415-681-5858) for a little pre-hike reinforcements?
