This is our weekly ~2.3 mile BRISK hike on all 3 loop trails in beautiful Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve, 2616 Kildaire Farm Road in south Cary, with occasional screeching halts to try to identify birds & other natural curiosities. There will be a lot of down-and-up on this hike, as there are a LOT of steps(stairs), and we will tread on each and every one, twice!! You should be in good physical condition for this hike.
If you have questions about CHMG brisk hikes, see the Message Board for the Brisk Hike FAQ: http://hiking.meetup....
NOTE: Departure time is **promptly at 7:00**. Gates are locked around sunset so we must be out by then. If raining more than a sprinkle, hike is canceled.
We will meet at the bulletin board nearest the nature center by the parking lot.
Information about Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve is here:

From Tryon Road & Kildaire Farm Road, go south on Kildaire Farm Road 1.3 miles and look for the Hemlock Bluffs sign on the right (in the middle of the massive construction zone).

"Weather held out for us. Nature Center folks say the bush we were puzzled about last week was Styrax grandifolia (big-leaf snowbell). Tonight's birds: cardinal, Carolina wren, Carolina chickadee, tufted titmouse, wood thrush."
