Introduction: My hikes have taken me from Niagara to Tobermory and I have almost completed the Bruce Trail...only 227 km to go! Should anyone be interested in having a meal on the trail this season, I can fire-up my stove at anytime!
What is your most amusing hiking mishap?: Well, it wasn't supposed to be a hike...my friend let me borrow this hybrid kayak/canoe-like vessel for a Grand River trip. It sank. We swam. We walked 3 km in soft mocs all the way back to the car. Short trip, funny day. Thanks mate!!!
What is your most scariest hiking mishap?: I got caught in Bruce Peninsula's worst storm in over 30 years..mildly hypothermic...rain all day...storm hit at 5 pm and didn't stop until 5 am. Lightening/thunder across the water...on a ridge...stuck in a tent....not good!
If you could hike anywhere in the world, where would you go?: Spain (El Camino trail) or Peru (Lost Inca trail).
How many kilometres have you hiked in one day?: 26 km with a 40 lbs. pack
What is the most beautiful place you have hiked?: Both Johnston Canyon and Mount Revelstoke took my breath away...anywhere in Alberta/BC is amazing. Here in Ontario, it would be Bruce Peninsula National Park or Pretty River Valley Provincial Park.
