Bruce Peninsula National Park is located near the end of an 80 km long peninsula that follows the 800 km long Niagara Escarpment. Off the northern tip of the park you'll find Canada's first National Marine park in the form of Fathom Five. There are dozens of wrecks, easily accessible to divers in uncommonly clear waters. This is one of the best diving areas in North America.

We have reserved three sites - three tents, six people, and one vehicle allowed on each site. We are hoping to fill this trip with 18 members: cost is $30 per person, not including food, gas, or additional vehicles ($11.70 per night). You are required to bring your own food, shelter (unless sharing), eating/cooking utensils. All interested members must bring their payment (cash) to a pre-trip meeting on May 22 at 6:30 pm at the Queen's Head in Oakville to reserve a spot. Sites are reserved under the following names:

Alex - Birches #188
Judy - Birches #190
Michelle - Birches #189

When RSVPing, please mention if you can drive, if you have a shelter to share, or if you have any other equipment to share (i.e. campstove/pots) so that we don't duplicate 18 items:)

See you at the pre-trip meeting!

It was a great weekend, what great weather. Jess, Cindy and myself finished the hike on the Monday in no time at all, 2hrs at the most. We were a little disappointed at the end when we got to visitor centre and that was pretty much end of hike, Michelle the last bit you may not recognize, it was mostly paved. The first trek on Sat was the best of the hike, I will definately go back, love the terrian. All around great weekend.

It was an awesome weekend. The company, campground, and weather couldn't have been better:) Thankfully, we had Eddie and Rosa's navigation skills at night; lots of tylenol for Alex...and way too many laughs for his harem! Waiting to see ALL photos on this site. Oh...and solar showers ROCK!

There have been some requests for dogs to attend. Alex wants to bring Eddie and Fernanda wants to bring her little weiner dog:) Some considerations: - Dogs MUST be leashed in this park. Kids, coons and possibly bears in the area. -Hiking here is rocky and remote along the peninsula - dogs must be able to keep with the group. -No dogs in my car. Please make arrangements when we carpool. -No dogs in my tent. I'll share with a person only! ...any allergies or concerns, please let me know.

I am going to lead a 21 km hike on the Saturday from Cyprus to Little Tub harbour in Tobermory for those interested. Your reward?...a cold one at the popular Crow's Nest. Also, Keith tells me that there is a street party in Lion's Head not too far away that night. On Sunday, I will offer to lead you on a 9 km trek to High Dump, a backpackers haven for a picnic and swim in the frigid waters of Georgian Bay!
