I am so sorry but a work schedule conflict occured so I have to change the walk to Friday. I am hoping it doesn't cause a problem for anyone. Good news for daytimers like Bob is that I will be going back to nights so we can do a dog walk during the week as well.

Bring your canine friends for a easy to moderate walk at Mt. Airy Dog Park. Meet at the Shelter at the Dog Park at 6:30 for a 1-3 mile walk through the old Mt. Airy horse trails. We wind back to the dog park where our friends can finish wearing themselves out off lead while we rest up.

For those with super canines aka Henry the Beagle, I will be at the park around 530ish to get Henry a little worn out before we start so he doesn't pull so much. This has never worked for me before, but I can dream just once it will work and he will walk like a civilized pup. Feel free to join me inside the park until 6:30 when we begin the walk. If you can't walk wooded trails, you can also show up early for playtime with Henry and Inca until the walk begins.

All are welcome on this hike, but this is a dog hike so expect doggie mischief and barking galore.

I just hiked back there to plan a route. Please be advised the terrain is moderate to advanced as the trails are not well maintained. However, they are clearly marked and passable. There are just fallen trees, inclines and rock beds to cross that may be challenging for some. There is a very short trail, less than a mile, for anyone who doesn't feel up to the full hike and then the dog park is there for your canine's pleasure. I will mark that route as well.
