People should come out who are interested in wildflowers, bird watching, and an easy walk in the woods.

we will be guided by birdwatching experts from the Indiana Audubon Society.

Our pal Jackie Lin has passed on info about this interesting walk on Tuesday May 6 at Rush Run Wildlife Area north of Hamilton near Somerville OH.
I [John Cunningham] will scout out a carpool location near Hamilton ave and I-275 well before May 6.

Details--

FABULOUS FLOWERS/BEAUTIFUL BIRDS hike on Tues May 6 2008
9:30am at Rush Run Wildlife area. Elaine and Jack Berninger will be leading this walk.

Location and directions. We will meet at parking area 2 off
Pogue Frazee rd parking is on the left. Pogue road is just
past maintenance bldgs. and office for the park turn left on
Pogue/Frazee to parking area.

From Hamilton OH take Hwy. 127 North toward the
town of Somerville OH watch for Rush Run signs a couple of
miles past the intersection of Hwy 73 from Oxford and Hwy 127

from Hamilton follow signs - the sign in the town of Somerville is easy to
miss,so watch carefully, it directs you to turn left at
convenience store. Follow that rd to Pogue/Frazee. Bring lunch
- Moderate hike of 2-3 miles. Will last 2-3 hour but can turn
around and leave any time.

    We each got a 450 million yr old fossil of horn coral, saw indigo buntings & scarlet taninger, and pulled the tail of a snapping turtle to get it to snap.Don't eat May apples until they are yellow! Thanks to Jack and Elaine Berninger and Mike from Audadonfor sharing the wealth of nature right at our feet!
