Hike leader: Fearless Leader Jose

Ok I haven't done an easy hike in a while so lets start with the easiest one we do.
My legs hurt from last week so its time to the old knees a break.

When : Sunday May 18, 2008-- 9:00am

Hike level: beginner 2.5/10 around 2 hours roundtrip, 4 miles, 400 feet elevation gain
rock hopping and rock scrambling, river crossings. walk slow to medium

What to bring: water, hat, hiking shoes, dress for weather, snack and
those with bad balance bring a walking stick. IT helps alot with rock hopping and stream crossings

description: We will first start on an easy road, then walk over a river crossing, then walk on a road for a while
til we get to a bridge, then we will take trails to the waterfalls, by rock hopping, scrambling and crossing
the river a few times. If you feel you can't do it, just return the same way you got there.

email me if you have any questions

I had a great time on this hike because I had always thought about hiking to Eaton Falls but never got around to it until now.

This was a great hike. Plenty of exercise jumping the rocks to get to that great waterfall and swimming area!!! Great!

Thank-you Fearless Leader--the waterfall pool felt wonderful.
    •  Very nice trail for walk & talk, to enjoy the social aspect of the meetup. Beautiful trees and waterfalls, a nice leisurely Sunday stroll in a beautiful natural setting. Friendly, interesting group showed up.
    •  Nice and easy stream crossings. It was hot but bearable. Let's go back on a cooler day.
    •  Jose is a great guy with good instructions before you start the hike. He informs you of "what ifs" He is very exuberant with a constant smile on his face, is responsible and is concerned about all of the hikers. I know, because I was one of the ones lagging behind because it was extra warm this day and he actually walked all the way back to check up on me. That made me feel real good and safe. Well I made it to the beautiful falls, sat down to enjoy the scenery, had some snacks and everyone hiking this day were really cool. I had a wonderful time and thank you again.

       I love it..!!
    •  Eaton Falls was spectacular in site. The water was extremely cold but refreshing. It was so hot yesterday but it was a good practice for me since I will be hiking the Grand Canyon in August with my sister and other friends. I need more of those hot days to get use to it.

It was a great beginner hike for those of us just starting. Despite the heat, it was a good hike!
