Slow poke hikers only! This is my 5th trip to Mount Baldy and I've always done it in a slow poke pace. There is no rush! With more frequent breaks we will be rewarded with a great view, sense of accomplishment and a good workout. Starting from Manker Flats parking lot we will go through the big gate and take a moment to enjoy San Antonio water falls then we will begin our challenging journey to summit Mount Baldy.

Because I'm new to leading and organizing hikes come and join my hike to Manzanita Ridge-Old Mt. Wilson trail scheduled for November 7 at 8am to get a feel of my pace. I'm truly a slow poke hiker and I am able to summit all the strenuous hikes I've been so far.

DIRECTIONS TO THE TRAILHEAD:
Take the 10 or the 210 to Upland and exit Mountain Avenue heading North into the Angeles National Forest. Follow Mountain Avenue to the intersection with Shinn Road - veer left. Continue to Mt. Baldy Road, veer right onto Mt. Baldy Road and follow it for several miles to Manker Flats. Be careful of your speed after Baldy Village - some of the turns are hairpin. Make a U-turn at the sign for SAN ANTONIO FALLS ROAD (The trailhead and some outhouses are located here) and start looking for a parking place. You will need an adventure pass to park here. We will meet at the trailhead by the outhouses.

I think we missed you guys by a few minutes. We accidentally turned into Manker Flats campground before we set ourselves right at San Antonio Falls. It was very icy and cold. Definitely not a trail you can easily supervise people on. Hopefully, I'll see you next time.

Hi James - I heard you waited for us. Sorry to have missed you at the parking lot we left at 7:03. I'm glad you summitted. We turned around as the trail got slippery. I didn't want anyone slipping and gettin hurt on the trail.

Hikers - please consider coming to this hike TIMELY otherwise you will find yourself hiking alone. The group is big and some will come even before 7am and it will be unfair to wait for late comers. Thank you for your kind consideration.....

    •  Yikes...winter is here and I'm not liking the snow in the mountains....I will return again next year.
    •  A nice group of people to share a hike with! Didn't make it to the top this time because of the icy trails, but still had a fun morning.
