Hi,
I'd like to welcome everyone to the Houston Outside meetup group. I was in this group last year and thought it was a blast. There are alot of really great people here. I got busy in my personal life (work and school) and had to leave for a while, but now I'm back! We have some really great Organizers here and I hope to add some more to keep the ideas coming. If any of you would like to try your hand as Assistant Organizer, drop me a line and I will hook you up. Some of the activities I'm planning to add are day hikes in local state parks, night hikes (which are always a blast!) and bicycle rides (both in the city and country). Does anyone here like to canoe/kayak? I would like to organize some events for that too. Take a look at the activities we're doing and if you see something that you'd like to do, let us know and maybe we can get that activity going. We'd like to get ideas of places that people would like to hike and we'd also like to know what other outdoor activities you would like to do? If you have any ideas, please let us know. Thanks, Scott |

I like your ideas ! But I have a few questions . 1 . Do we camp overnight on night hikes ? 2 . ( Bike rides ) I have a mountain bike , would that be a problem ?

I also think you have some great ideas. I haven't participated in any events with this group yet, but I hope I can soon. In response to some of your suggestions, I would love to go hiking, anywhere in the Houston area or even within an hour or two drive from here. I also like to kayak. Bike rides are great, but nothing too strenuous. I'm currently in the process of getting more physically fit. I haven't always been so into the outdoors, but recently (within the last year or so) I've found that I really enjoy these kinds of activities, and I'd like to do more of them. So keep the ideas coming, and hopefully I'll be able to join you for some of them.
Thanks! |
