If you are looking for a little adventure and fun, than this is a great trail to hike after work. The trail starts by the picnic shelter, crosses Bedwell Bay road and then winds its way up and down through mixed forests with some open views of Bedwell Bay until you drop down to Jug Island beach after about 45 minutes of walking. Here you get a beautiful view of Bedwell Bay and Indian arm.
Much of the trail is an old road and the GVRD has updated other sections with wooden stairs etc. This trail offers a bit of elevation gain (200m) over some knarly roots and through a few puddles if it has rained. Allow 2 hours and be prepared for the climb back up to the high point on the way back. We just have to make sure to get back to our vehicles in time to get on the other side of the gate before 9pm. We'll walk at a moderate pace, if you're not sure if you can do this hike within 2 hours, than please try it out during the day sometime. Your dog is welcome to come along. For the rest just bring water and a smile!

Directions:
Drive through or towards Port Moody and turn onto Ioco Rd. Then follow the signs to Belcarra Regional Park.Turn right onto First Ave and then follow Bedwell Rd. Do not turn at White Pine Beach, but continue until you see the new access road to the parking area and the picnic site.

Cheers smile
