We are planning a trip to Shenandoah this upcoming weekend and a have a group of people with various hiking skills. Ideally I’d like to take everybody to the Old Rag but need to have a plan B in case my friends decide it is too strenuous for them. Please recommend a couple of hikes in Shenandoah that are moderately difficult but still offer great views, 4-5 hours or shorter. Thanks!

Maria,

This really doesn't answer your question but I saw everything from little girls to old ladies on old rag. It will be a challenge but your friends will probably be OK doing old rag. Just allow 5.5-6 hours for the trip, bring plenty of water / snacks and take your time + enjoy the scenery :)
