Hi Elizabeth, I plan on following Jeff Galloway for training, i.e, have a long run every weekend and increase the distance by 1 mi on average. Also run a bit and walk a bit to acheive that distance. I might run 10 minutes followed by a walk of 2 minutes. When the long runs get really long, Jeff increases the mileage by 2 mi every 2 weekends or by 3 mi every 3 weekends and has a short run in those intermediate weekends.
