Thursdays Hike - Calico Tanks

2.5 miles round trip, 2 hours, Difficulty 2, Class 2. Elevation gain 500ft

The classic Red Rock tourist hike.

Water in the desert! A lake at the TOP of the hill! Views of the Strip!

Steps have been built into the sandstone to aid your assent.



NO FEE after 5pm on the Red Rock Loop!!!

"The Sandstone Quarry is the third (3) parking lot on the Scenic Loop.

DO NOT leave your cars in the parking lot by the fee booth! You will get locked in."


ALWAYS bring a bottle of water, flashlight and jacket

NO cell phone service in Red Rock, but you may be able to text me.

    this was my first hike with the club,it was the best, meet a alot of great prople,sorrya bout the lady with knee problelms. hope all is well.this group is great, you will see more of me , any overnighters in the works

    A great hike for even those new to hiking. It's a $5 fee if you come in before 5, but a $20 donation gets you in at any time all through the year, and the fees go to great use in the park!
